The Scorpion Tribunus III 08-120A ESC introduces the latest generation of Scorpion electronic speed-controller technology for demanding RC aircraft and commercial UAV applications. Designed by Scorpion and manufactured in Taiwan using carefully selected components, it combines efficient power delivery, advanced motor control and comprehensive protection features in a compact, durable package.

With support for up to 8S LiPo power systems, a 120A continuous current rating and a powerful adjustable SBEC, the Tribunus III 08-120A is an excellent choice for 550-size helicopters, lightweight 600-size helicopters and medium-size electric airplanes. Scorpion’s proprietary motor-control algorithm provides smooth startup, precise throttle response and dependable performance across a wide range of brushless motors.

For airplane applications, Scorpion’s “20cc–35cc gas equivalent” recommendation refers to electric airplanes similar in size and performance to models traditionally powered by 20cc–35cc gasoline engines. The ESC itself is designed exclusively for electric power systems.

Powerful Adjustable SBEC

The integrated high-voltage SBEC can be adjusted from 5.1V to 12.1V, allowing it to power a wide range of receivers, flight controllers and high-voltage servos without requiring a separate receiver battery.

With up to 12A of continuous output and a 25A one-second peak rating at 8.1V, the SBEC provides the current capacity required by modern digital and high-torque servo systems.

Advanced Motor Control

Scorpion’s proprietary motor-control system is designed to deliver smooth startup, fast acceleration and precise throttle response. The adjustable drive frequency allows the ESC to be matched to different brushless motor designs and operating requirements.

Its efficient power stage and low internal resistance help reduce energy loss and operating temperature while maintaining strong performance under demanding loads.

Designed for Improved Cooling

The Tribunus III case uses a finned aluminum heatsink design to transfer heat away from the internal electronics. Integrated mounting tabs allow the ESC to be firmly secured to the model while maintaining a clean and professional installation.

Adequate cooling airflow must still be provided, particularly in enclosed scale fuselages, high-power helicopter installations and continuous industrial applications.
